Become a Natural Hero

Recently, there was a devastating tornado in Windsor, Colorado, that left hundreds of people homeless. We've all read about the earthquakes in China and the newly awakened volcano in Chile that sprang to life after being dormant for over 9000 years. All of these "acts of God (?)" are beyond our control. Our planet is changing and we are caught in the throes of that change. But for all the things we can't control, there are still many things we can do to help our planet.
There is TV program called "Natural Heroes" that features independently produced films with a common theme - recognizing people who are doing something to improve the environment. These are ordinary people doing what they can all across the country and the world to help our planet. They are people of all ages who demonstrate clearly that one person really can make a difference.
Produced by Green Treks Network and KRCB-TV in the Bay area, this show is available to PBS stations across the country free of charge. If you are not receiving this show in your area, please contact your local PBS station and request that they make the show part of their programming.
Do you know a natural hero? If you think you might, check out their website.
And for all you independent film makers who are turning your lenses on the natural world and what we can do for our environment, Natural Heroes is the perfect venue to showcase your work.
The series producer, Valerie Landes, recently won two Emmys for outstanding achievement in two categories: Children/Youth and Education/Schools. This is a quality show worthy of promotion by those who are concerned about the environment and our planet.
Involve the schools in your community, talk with your kids, write your PBS station to air this show, and let's get the word out that everyone one us, regardless of age, can be a "natural hero."
